The game reflects the comical, almost childlike sense of wonder that permeates the film. In typical Marvel fashion, these scenes reinforce the basic components of Scott’s personality. In the average superhero story, the main protagonist is a stalwart defender of truth and justice, devoid of doubts or distractions. Scott is a realistic, fully developed character. Marvel pioneered the concept of the flawed hero and Lang is one of the best examples. As a devoted father, focusing most of his actions on her best interests. He is close to the end of house arrest when once again is pulled into illegal activities by the original Ant-man, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).
Pym has developed a means to rescue his wife, Janet van Dyne: (Michelle Pfeiffer), who was lost many years before in the subatomic Quantum Realm. Scott is entangled with Janet making him the only way Hank and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly). To build the tunnel to the quantum realm, Hope was forced to obtain components from a criminal specializing in black market high tech, Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) Mr. Goggins is a highly accomplished and sought-after character actor with a predilection for exceptionally quirky villains. His very presence in the movie adds depth to the production. Another common aspect of the prototypical comic book flick is the clear distinction between good and evil. The MCU is crafted on more finesse and subtly. Superficially, Burch is the bad guy. His machinations target the new Pym technology to sell off various pieces for as much money as possible. This is completely without regard to the moral repercussions of the customers. A technique such as this is conducive to the introduction of another foe to oppose Ant-man and the Wasp.
The second antagonist is referred to as Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), a young woman capable of becoming intangible, able to phase her body through matter. Combined with advanced training in black ops, she is a deadly, almost unstoppable opponent. The ensuing situation takes the story far from the simplistic dichotomy of black versus white hats that has been the staple of action-based tales throughout time. Scott is trapped between complicated conjunction of conflicting circumstances. Scott returns as Ant-man to work with Hope, now the Wasp, to regain the technology from Burch. Not willing to let go of a criminal enterprise potentially worth billions, Burch continue to attempt to steal the technology. This is made somewhat easier since Hank reduced the entire building housing his laboratory to cube less than a meter in dimension. Ghost needs that technology to recover Janet and use her as a cure for her powers and their fatal inevitability. A bit of extra com0lication is added by the Justice Department agent overseeing Scott's house arrest, Jimmy Woo (Randall Park). At one point close to the end all the players are drawn to the same spot where the miniaturized lab is passed around in a classic comedy trope of ‘hot potato.’ The comic sense of timing is impeccable, with Hope shifting sizes as she darts between cars striking at the bad guys.
Meanwhile, the other car Luis drives us with his trademarked quips. One scene that has become a must in Ant-man films is the story recap by Luis where his voice comes from the various characters.
the most anticipated portion of all MCU movies are the scenes inserted within the lengthy end credits. The seemingly never-ending list of all actors, technicians, tradespeople and their companies are dutifully listed after the movie. The credits are extremely long, especially in special effects intensive films. Understandably, members of the audience are prone to leave before the completion of the list. The 3D effects are better than usual, par for an MCU movie. The numerous action sequences naturally contain effects featuring sudden changes in size, frequently during a fight scene.
