Dolby Digital Stereo:

This program features a stereo soundtrack encoded to an AC-3 bitstream. When played on Dolby Digital equipment sound will come from the right and left front speakers. This is pretty much the same as the stereo soundtracks many of us grew up with. There is no information present for the rear, center or sub woofer. If a DVD is encoded with this format it may be better to bypass the digital processing and go to on of the emulation modes most receivers have. Something like Simulated Surround, Theater, Live, Club etc.
